Below, you will find more details about our top trends and how they will impact our industry in 2025 together wtih tips and recommendations on how to apply them.

Hoteliers must focus on integrating personalisation into direct revenue strategies, offering bespoke packages, tailored pricing, and curated services that cater to individual preferences.
- Optimising revenue through data-driven personalisation not only enhances the guest experience but also strengthens loyalty and drives repeat bookings, making it a cornerstone of successful revenue strategies in 2025.

Experiences
- Experiential and Localised Offerings: Travellers are increasingly seeking authentic experiences that reflect the local culture. In response, hotels are offering region-specific cuisine, traditional performances, cultural tours, and partnerships with local businesses to create immersive stays. This trend is prompting hotels to explore the world of retail, broadening their service offerings.
- Enhanced Food and Beverage Options: There is a growing emphasis on diverse and innovative dining experiences, such as farm-to-table concepts, plant-based menus, and international cuisines, to meet evolving guest preferences.

Digital Updates

- ChatGPT is now a search engine. Although currently presented in a basic format without any advertising, expect this is be enhanced in 2025. OpenAI is exploring various monetisation options, such as subscription models like ChatGPT Plus.
- AI tools are growing and will continue to do so. Google has relaunched Bard as Gemini and Microsoft continues to use it AI tool Copilot, powered by ChatGPT. Both will increase in popularity and will no doubt advance further.
- Business profiles are becoming more relevant and enhanced. Apple is predicted to offer advertising, business chat via iMessage, loyalty programmes and further customer engagement tools, to name a few areas.
- Google Business Profiles will likely need to be optimised for voice queries, will offer real-time messaging and even video communication. Booking integration is also being mentioned with in-app payments a possibility.
- Microsoft Bing is expected to be more closely integrated with Microsoft Copilot, which is embedded within the likes of Word, Excel and Outlook. This could allow Bing searches within documents and emails.
- Utilising Google for direct bookings is getting harder. Google now enables OTAs to take the prime position on its Performance Max advertising platform, using the hotel name to generate traffic to the OTA.
- Expect more fake rates online. Via and Goseek were the top rate offenders in October, expect these and other players to source inventory from OTAs or contracted sources and manipulate rates, often with an illegitimate headline price.
- There will be a greater need for direct bookings in the UK more than ever. With pending National Insurance and minimum wage changes due in April 2025, hotels will be hit on profit and need to reduce commission to help compensate profit dilution. Technology will play a key part in achieving this.
